-
A 50 minute online, one-to-one session.
-
This is an ideal forum for general discussion of any and all aspects of academic work or skills necessary for succeeding at University.
-
Discussion is driven by the student while the tutor functions as a sounding board and guide for overcoming perceived obstacles to learning.
-
Areas of expertise include (but are not limited to):
-
Academic Referencing.
-
Academic English and suitable modes of address.
-
Exam preparation.
-
Essay planning and technique (including writing drafts and searching out sources.)
-
Critical and analytical skills.
-
-
This is an excellent option for getting written feedback on a partially or near completed peice of work.
-
A fresh pair of eyes can often spot errors and problems in clarity which are not immediately apparent to the author of a piece.
-
By submitting the piece of work for feedback in good time before the appointment, with the relevant question and deadline alongside it will yield the best results in terms of recieving detailed feedback in session.
-
Feedback will take the form of verbal commentary in session.
-
These notes should be taken as guide only which can be implemented by the student should they wish and are not mandatory changes. It should also be noted that I cannot comment on the specific expectations or requirements of individual institutions or modules.
-
50 minute online workshops are run with the express purpose of discussing a particular piece of work which is still being written (upto 3000 words).
-
Work should either be submitted by email before the appointment or brought to the appointment.
-
The focus of the workshops will then be on content, structure, use of language and potential changes. The tutor will not be changing the work but rather offering commentary and verbal feedback for the student to take on board should they choose to.
-
Work will be accepted for discussion at any stage of completion but the purpose of this workshop is focussed discussion on the piece of work rather than general study skills (for this please book a general session above).
-
Reading, editing and offering feedback on a dissertation in any stage of completion is a tailored and bespoke servcie specific to the individual student and project.
-
Prices may vary depending on length of work, level of study, stage of completion and required commitment.
-
By getting touch with specific information about your project work, possible options for how best to approach it may be discussed and an appropriate pricing worked out.
